GALVANIC ONLY
- Switch off the thermolysis setting
- The client should still be holding the indifferent electrode
- Increase the timer to 10.0 as a minimum starting point
- Leave the galvanic intensity on the same setting from Technique 3 or start at 15
- Treat the follicle and gently release the hair
- Increase the galvanic intensity until you reach the working point, then to quicken the process use ‘Treat and Leave’
SHORT WAVE DIATHERMY – USING THE FOOTPEDAL WITH AN SX-B
- Turn off the Galvanic setting
- If desired take indifferent electrode from client, as it is no longer necessary
- Set the timer to 1.0 – 2.0 seconds
- Set the thermolysis to a starting point of 15
- Insert needle, then depress foot switch
- Wait for the beep, remove foot from foot pedal and gently release hair
- If hair will not release, increase the intensity by 2 digits at a time and repeat procedure
- Continue until the working point is found
NOTE: It is vital you check the needle diameter, accuracy and depth of insertion, before increasing the current levels
SHORT WAVE DIATHERMY – USING A SWITCHED NEEDLE HOLDER WITH AN SX-B
- The foot pedal must be unplugged in order to use the switched needle holder
- Set the thermolysis at 15
- Insert needle and depress finger switch to release current for 1-2 seconds as required
- After the time has elapsed, lift finger from switch to stop current flow
- Withdraw needle and gently remove hair
- If hair will not release, increase the intensity by 2 digits at a time, working on different follicles each time, until the working point is established
