Sterex Trainers
Sterex has a team of trainers who cover 10 regional areas throughout the UK, Scotland
and Ireland. Sterex offer every College of Further Education the opportunity of
receiving formal representation from one of our highly qualified trainers, many
of which are salon owners and lecturers.
Sterex offer you the opportunity of booking an Educational day, which encompasses
presentational and practical elements of Blend Epilation and a presentation of Advanced
Electrolysis Techniques, both with live footage of treatments. The Educational day
is designed to help motivate, support, encourage and educate students during their
electrolysis training and includes both PowerPoint presentation and practical demonstrations.
It enables the students to experience up to date treatments and techniques, thus
furthering their knowledge of current practices available to beauty therapists within
a modern Beauty Industry.

Carolyn Claypole
In 1996 I gained my C.I.D.E.S.C.O. and I.T.E.C. honours Beauty Therapy and Electrolysis
qualification following an intensive course at The Yorkshire College of Beauty.
During my training I was entered by the college into the Sterex Electrolysis Student
of the Year Competition, and I achieved second place winning my first Sterex Blend
machine. As soon as I gained my electrolysis qualification I enrolled on an Advanced
Electrolysis course to enable me to utilise my equipment to its full potential.
Following 5 years of enjoyable and rewarding electrolysis experience I decided to
enrol on a teaching qualification to enable me to teach at my local college. During
this course I was fortunate enough to teach electrolysis at Stamford College, although
it was voluntary! I decided to enter a student into the Sterex Electrolysis Student
of the Year competition and she won the regional competition and came second in
the final. It was at this event that I first met Elaine Stoddart, Director of Training
and PR for Sterex. Elaine asked me to become a trainer for Sterex.
I am still teaching for Sterex today!
Electrolysis and Advanced Cosmetic Procedures are the two most enjoyable and important
treatments a therapist can offer today.
Allyson Bell
Allyson is the regional trainer for Ireland
I absolutely love everything Sterex and my students ask me if I get cut do I bleed
Sterex? What a fantastic treatment Electrolysis is and still the only permanent
method of hair removal. I have seen people’s lives changed by this wonderful treatment
and wholeheartedly endorse it. I like to think that I play my part in educating,
assisting and supporting Northern Ireland FE colleges and during my time with Sterex,
(I joined Sterex 10 years ago and I am one of the longest serving trainers), I have
tried hard and continue to try to convert the whole of Northern Ireland into Sterex
land!
I would encourage every student to enter the Sterex Student of the Year competition
and was absolutely delighted when Northern Ireland won in 2000. What a fantastic
competition with over £1,000 prize money for the student AND the lecturer!
As well as my Sterex work I teach epilation at my local further educational college
one day a week and the remainder of the week I work in my own salon. I specialise
in electrolysis - it is what I love to do and practice on average 24 hours of electrolysis
a week. I am passionate about the subject and feel I have acquired a wealth of knowledge
through my practical work over the last 27 years.
Helen Clymer
Helen is the trainer for the Midlands.
I first found a joy for electrolysis when I was a student at college. Initially
I struggled with electrolysis as I had a phobia of needles myself. I got over this
by telling myself I was applying a probe into a pocket within the skin and not a
needle like an injection. Once I overcame this hurdle I fell in love with electrolysis
and later entered the Sterex Student of the Year Competition after being put forward
by my lecturer. I went on to win my region. My confidence grew from strength to
strength from that point on.
Later I went to work in a busy salon and as a result my expertise and practical
experience grew ten fold and my client base steadily increased alongside this as
a result.
My next career progression was working on luxury cruise liners where I gained a
tremendous amount of experience. After a few years I decided to return to dry land,
update my skills and start my own business.
Over the next few years I developed a thriving business but always keen on self
improvement and with my constant thirst for knowledge I decided, alongside my business,
to refresh my qualifications so I took my lecturing exams and gained a teaching
post as well.
My business continues to grow by reputation and I now offer a growing number of
services with electrolysis and Advanced Cosmetic Procedures being one of the most
popular. There is nothing better than being part of making a difference to people’s
lives and watching their individual confidence grow. As a result these two treatments
are some of the most fulfilling treatments I do.

Susan Jones
Susan is trainer North East Region
I have 15 years experience in the beauty industry ranging from the High Street to
health farms and cruise ships.
I became interested in becoming a beauty therapist after being an electrolysis client.
I fully endorse electrolysis as I am a success story having had the treatment to
treat hair growth caused by endometriosis and fibroids. My mom took me to an electrologist
in Middlesbrough to treat my hair growth at the age of 13. It was through the beauty
therapist’s recommendation that I eventually sought the advice of my doctor whereby
I had my first operation to treat endometriosis at the age of 21. I am grateful
to the therapist as she saved me from the embarrassment of dark facial hair, as
well as having treatment for a condition that could have caused infertility.
I trained at Kirby College in Middlesbrough where I excelled at Beauty Therapy and
Electrolysis and won 'The Student of the Year Competition', for the highest city
and guild exam results in 1994. When I was at Kirby I gained a distinction in C
& G 7307 Teaching Certificate.
My interest in electrolysis was renewed after leaving the cruise ships, when I began
to work for myself, I enjoy treating clients and have achieved good results for
my increasing clientele.
Myschell Lyndle
Myschell is trainer for the East Region
My passion for the subject was ignited at the age of 14 when I was the first pupil
at my high school to study Beauty Therapy. I passed the course with flying colours
and launched my career with my own mobile business. My career has seen many challenges
and has resulted in a life changing success story.
With practice in my own salon, teaching and training experience in the UK and abroad,
I now have a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the subject to share and I
enthusiastically aim to inspire students into a career within the beauty industry.
I qualified in 1986 in IHBC and City & Guilds Beauty Therapy and Electrolysis. I
have a wide range of experience to include transgender clients and was recently
contacted to treat canine ingrown eyelashes by a well known veterinary practice.
I have recently launched my own private practice where I offer Advanced Cosmetic
Procedures and Blend electrolysis. With a working partnership with a doctor who
performs IPL and Sclerotherapy, I offer a unique service in the South Norfolk area
and beyond.
I am extremely excited about the opportunity to raise awareness of the perpetual
success and transgression of electrolysis. It is wonderful to be able to offer this
elite service with confidence. Support and professional development is second to
none with Sterex Electrolysis International Ltd.
